USA Intern - About Us

While Chanin Coyle was working as a Senior Media Coordinator for Compas, Inc. in Pennsauken,NJ, she discovered a need within her department that she turned into a whole new company.

During the busy media planning season, Chanin, who was pregnant with her second child, presented the idea of bringing in some college interns to help the department with the overload. Empowered to make it happen, Chanin successfully reached out to several local colleges, but found the process time-consuming and laborious. She thought that this might be the case for many other companies as well. She began documenting ways to create a system that was more efficient for both the employers searching for an intern and the students who were searching for an internship.

Chanin's initial media internship program was a success. She connected with students from local colleges, some of who were transitioned into full time hires. As time progressed, other departments approached her with a similar request for interns. She began to develop programs for other departments within the company. The internship program gained popularity as companies outside of Compas, Inc. requested that she also create an internship for their business.

In an effort to formalize her idea, Chanin worked with the SBA office at Rutgers-Camden. Their team helped her to develop a solid business plan. She presented her new business idea and partnership proposal to Stan Woodland, the President of Compas, Inc. Stan liked the entrepreneurial spirit Chanin brought to the concept, and approved the fledgling company, newly christened USA Intern, two weeks later.

Chanin launched her new company's first website www.Jerseyintern.com in April 2005, with the goal to provide quality local internships with a very user-friendly format. The website assists local students who are searching for internships, career changers who are re-entering the job market and international students seeking opportunities in the states.

As the company grew, they expanded their reach by launching fifty internship websites in the summer of 2008. USA Intern, LLC currently has internship websites in each state throughout the United States. Now companies in each state can help students to connect with local internships that will increase their chances of gaining employment. Websites include www.Alaskaintern.com, www.CaliforniaIntern.com, www.TexasIntern.com, www.NewYorkIntern.com, www.Usaintern.com, etc.

College Career Centers across the United States have placed the USA Intern, LLC websites directly on campus as a solution for providing internships. USA Intern was also approached by state level organizations such as the Iowa Department of Economic Development. They utilize the USA Intern site, www.Iowaintern.com as their primary resource for in-state internship programs. Businesses such as CBS News, MTV, NASA, the FBI, and many other Fortune 500 companies have placed almost 10,000 internship listings on the USA Intern.com network of sites.

Students are the future of the workforce. Interns are inspiring, driven and have initiative to reach their goals. Chanin is thrilled to be part of providing the initial tools and introductions to college students to help them jumpstart their career.
